Presentation
If you like easy drinking rosé wines, this one is perfectly suiting aperitifs and simple cookery.
The vintage
The years in 9 regularly mark the memory of winegrowers and this vintage was no exception. After an early bud burst in early April, flowering was gradual and took place in good conditions in all the vineyards. Then a hot summer began in late June, which the vines bravely resisted: they suffered little from water stress, thanks to the chamomile herbal infusions we sprayed on the vegetation to cope with the heat. Finally, the harvest went as usual, without any particular precocity. The wines are promising; a vintage in 9 is born, once again, under a lucky star.
Ageing
The harvest takes place between the last days of August and mid-September, when the grapes have reached optimal maturity. This is defined by analysis and berry tastings. Harvest takes place early in the morning to preserve the freshness of the fruit and avoid oxidisation of the aromas. As soon as the grapes arrive at the winery, they are pneumatically pressed which allows to extract the musts. Fermentation starts after settling and lasts about 15 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wines are kept in stainless steel vats and slightly fined before bottling.

Tasting
Pretty delicate petal-rose colour. This wine offers an expressive, particularly fruity nose with notes of red fruit and citrus. On the palate, this wine shows a beautiful aromatic richness and a perfect balance between the body and the freshness.

Reviews

"Fruity with appealing softness. Fun wine, will please plenitude of palates."

"The best vintage yet of the Perrin family’s extraordinarily popular
rosé from the southern Rhône valley is an alfresco humdinger. It’s
made by the wine wizard Marc Perrin, who also produces the tip-top
Provençal pink, Miraval, and has lashings of easy- swigging, elegant
red-berried fruit.

"This is the best-selling wine, of any colour, in the whole French range at Co op. It’s a very popular summer drink. It’s from the same wine makers who produce Miraval rose for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – if you sip with your eyes closed you’re transported to the south of France! Expect a crisp finish with delicate notes of strawberries, raspberries and a subtle touch of nectarine."
