La Vieille Ferme Côtes du Rhône Villages Rouge 2015

Since 1970, La Vieille Ferme has produced, vintage after vintage, authentic, sincere and tasty wines. On some of the world’s best restaurant wine lists as well as those of the best bistros, La Vieille Ferme is unanimously recognized.

The vintage
2015 was a magnificent year in the south as well, characterized by excellent sanitary conditions thanks to the mild, wet winter, followed by a relatively hot, dry spring. The vines coped well with the extreme heat and lack of rain in the summer thanks to good hydric reserves. Following satisfactory flowering, rapid and regular ripening was assisted by rain that fell in August, producing berries rich in phenolic compounds and anthocyanins. As in the north, harvesting took place under excellent conditions.
The best terroirs of the Côtes du Rhône were identified historically and only 20% can be labelled "Villages". Normally found on geological faults, they also benefit from a geological complexity that produces grapes of superior quality.
Clay and limestone soils and gravelly soils.
The Syrah is vinified in oak truncated vats. Grenache in stainless steel tanks. The aging partly takes place in wooden vats.
Alcohol content: 13,5% % vol.

Tasting notes
The mouth is harmonious: a dense and creamy structure, firm but very fine tannins, ripe fruit enhanced with peppery notes and an impressive length. A vintage that expresses beautifully the 2015 vintage.
Serve at 18°C.
