Presentation
Vinsobres is one of the most beautiful Crus in the Southern Rhône.
The vintage
The 2016 vintage in the Southern Rhone valley is exceptional, both in terms of quality and quantity, thanks to idyllic weather conditions that protected the region from climatic accidents throughout the whole year.
Location
The vineyard is located 40 km north of Châteauneuf-du-Pape at an altitude of 300m benefiting from a cool climate, perfect for Syrah. Les Hauts de Julien is made with grapes from an old plot of vines (around 90 years old) co-planted in Syrah and Grenache.

Advice

Serving
17°C.
Tasting
Deep ruby color, complex nose from aromas of red fruit, spices and garrigue along with subtile notes of black olive. The mouth shows some notes of smoked dark fruits, pepper meats, graphite and big minerality.Very accessible now, but also has the balance to hold for a 10 years.

Reviews

93
"Biodynamic methods, from a parcel of 90-year-old Grenache and Syrah. A whiff of oak spice over the fruit for now. Full, generous, intense, with driving acidity. Plush yet saline."
