Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2018

Presentation

Presentation
The production of white wine at Beaucastel is limited as we only have 7 hectares of white vines planted. The main variety is Roussanne, representing 80% of the blend.
The vintage
The 2018 vintage is characterised by exceptional weather conditions. Flowering took place in the best possible conditions, with a historically abundant grape output. A few rainy episodes at the end of the spring complicated things a little with an attack of mildew, but the good weather then settled down until harvest, which took place under idyllic conditions. The wines are beautiful.

Tasting
The 2018 white Château de Beaucastel 2018 has an elegant pale-yellow colour. Its sophisticated nose reveals opulent notes of white peach, quince jam, honeysuckle and candied ginger with a hint of grapefruit. Particularly full-bodied, powerful and complex on the palate, it shows beautiful minerality and evolves into a luxuriant roundness with magnificent aromas of mango, apricot and beeswax. It has a very long finish with delicate bitterness.

Reviews

93-95/100
"The 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc takes it up a notch, offering rocking notes of white peach, quince, crushed rocks, and honeysuckle. It’s medium to full-bodied, with a beautiful core of sweet fruit, a layered texture, and a great finish. It’s unquestionably another beautiful wine, and while 2018 was challenging for the whites, you wouldn’t know it by tasting this."
