Glass-staining ruby. Aromas of fresh red berries, rose and lavender, with an exotic touch of Asian spices emerging with air. Juicy and precise, offering sweet raspberry and cherry flavors and slow-mounting anise and white pepper notes. The bright finish features very good clarity and lingering sweetness. • Note: 91/100
It is dense, full-bodied, textured and impressive, but it has to take a backseat to the 2010 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes, which has an opaque purple color and a stunning nose of blackberry, black raspberry, asphalt, spring flowers and wet rocks. The minerality jumps from the glass in this full-bodied, powerfully built and beautifully pure Gigondas. • Note: 90-92/100 |
