La Vieille Ferme Rosé - 2025

Fresh, fruity and colored... The La Vieille Ferme Rosé presents all of the elements of an attractive rosé.

Presentation

The vintage
The 2025 vintage is shaping up to be a very good year. The hot, sunny summer encouraged excellent concentration in the grapes, while the cool nights preserved aromatic freshness and good acidity levels, essential for balanced wines. Despite the heat and some rain at the end of the harvest, the grapes remained remarkably healthy, with particularly concentrated fruit and controlled yields. Initial tastings reveal expressive wines with powerful aromas of ripe black fruit such as blackcurrants and blackberries, notes of rosemary, thyme, and lavender, characteristic of the garrigue. Their generous structure, driven by vibrancy, and balanced by a lovely freshness, suggests an excellent vintage.
Ageing
The harvest takes place between the last days of August and mid-September, when the grapes have reached optimal maturity. This is defined by analysis and berry tastings. Harvest takes place early in the morning to preserve the freshness of the fruit and avoid oxidisation of the aromas. As soon as the grapes arrive at the winery, they are pneumatically pressed which allows to extract the musts. Fermentation starts after settling and lasts about 15 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wines are kept in stainless steel vats and slightly fined before bottling.

Tasting
A pretty petal-pink colour with silvery highlights. Fresh and delicate, the nose opens with a floral bouquet dominated by roses, before revealing luscious notes of crushed strawberries. The lively palate is all about indulgence with aromas of vine peaches and pear drops, well-balanced by a refreshingly saline finish.

Reviews

"Even before they made boxed wine, they made my favorite cheap and cheerful, excellent porch pounder wines in glass bottles. With more than a century of experience, the Famille Perrin has certainly perfected their process, whether it be their white, rosé, or red. The blends allow them to keep the wine consistent and value-driven."

"The Rosé That Always Shows Up for You
This pale pink stunner from the southern Rhône Valley is like that one friend who’s effortlessly cool, low-maintenance, and always invited. With bright notes of wild strawberry, peach, and a crisp, dry finish, it’s the ultimate warm-weather wine—but honestly, it drinks beautifully year-round.

"Affectionately known as "The Chicken Wine" thanks to the little rooster on the front, this is exactly what inexpensive rosé should be. It's dry, juicy and quaffable, a total porch-pounder, as the kids these days like to say."
"Impact's wine hot brands […] include La Vieille Ferme (vineyard brands). […] Standout brands showing the way forward as the category looks to return to growth."
