Presentation
Considered as one of the greatest white wines in France, only 6000 bottles of this wine are produced. It's made with 100% very old Roussanne vines and harvested slightly over ripe. This exceptional wine must be drunk within 3 years or after 15 years. To be enjoyed with gastronomic cuisine.
The vintage
2015 was a magnificent year in the south as well, characterized by excellent sanitary conditions thanks to the mild, wet winter, followed by a relatively hot, dry spring. The vines coped well with the extreme heat and lack of rain in the summer thanks to good hydric reserves. Following satisfactory flowering, rapid and regular ripening was assisted by rain that fell in August, producing berries rich in phenolic compounds and anthocyanins.
Location
Château de Beaucastel has 7 hectares planted with white varieties.
Terroir
Molasse seabed of the Miocene period covered by diluvial alpine deposits (rolled pebbles).
Ageing
The grapes are hand picked in small cases and sorted, pneumatically pressed. Settling of the juices and fermentation (30% in oak, 70% tanks). Bottled after 8 months.

Tasting
Beautiful golden dress. The nose is intense, rich and complex. On the palate, this wine is bold and velvety, with hints of beeswax and citrus zest and a perfect balance. A great vintage of Roussanne Vieilles Vignes.
Reviews
Even better than the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, the richer, more concentrated 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Roussanne Vieilles Vignes comes from a single parcel of vines located beside the Chateau that were planted in 1909. Full-bodied, rich, gorgeously concentrated and textured, with fabulous notes of orange blossom, buttered citrus, marmalade and honey, it will be up with the crème de la crème of the vintage. It’s worth noting that since 2009, the estate has changed the viticulture with regards to their whites, moving to slightly larger yields, with the goal of making a more elegant white that ages more predictably."
"
Limpid yellow-gold. Expansive aromas of orange pith, nectarine, iodine, pungent flowers and honey acquire a smoky mineral nuance as the wine opens up. Densely packed and vibrant as well, offering ripe citrus and pit fruit flavors that show a refreshingly bitter edge and a core of minerality. Tense, pure and vibrant for its size, finishing with emphatic mineral thrust and persistent floral and citrus fruit notes. The interplay of richness and energy here is really impressive."
"
This golden hued wine by Chateau de Beaucastel has an incredible nose with beeswax, honeydew melon, nutmeg and brioche. With more air the wine becomes more earthy, imparting wild mushroom and unripe lemon notes. The mid-palate is silky and is incredibly seamless which becomes even more evident on the second day of tasting. The texture is downright ethereal. Buttered popcorn, poached pear, green papaya, and white peach flavors combine. The mouthfeel is downright unctuous as the range at play makes you savor every sip. Be sure to give this at least two to three hours of time in the decanter to breathe."
